The Greatest Generation

This blog has been initiated as a means of discussing the impact made upon later generations of the era beginning prior to the Second World War and the period when the " Boomer " generation had it's  introduction into the post war ethos and social environment. Perhaps it will help promote understanding among, and between generations and cultures, with an eye toward working beyond preconceptions and the vestiges of aggression. This is not to excuse or rewrite history, but to look at it phenomenologically for it's meaning to those who lived during the struggle and those left to " put the world back in place ".

Some are left who survived this time, and more are left who were to young to participate or who were born after the celebrations of VE and VJ day. This is a memoir, and an exploration of ourselves and what we want to keep and value of the lessons learned and that which we want to move beyond, In any war, there is much to remember and much to forgive. This is our process of healing.  Our chance to acknowledge the world we came from and leave a legacy of whatever understanding and wisdom can be gleaned for our own progress and that of our children.
